Hello all

We had another exciting day in Philadelphia! The senior team came together early this morning and worked on one more practice before the big competition. I was very proud to see the team perform their best yet. They danced beautifully and looked beautiful on the World stage!! There were 100 some odd teams today and it was a real battle. Unfortunately, we did not receive the recall, but I know that they were in the thick of things. The members of this team represented SRS well, and I am very proud of our first senior team at the worlds.

Great job!!

SRS Minor team at the Worlds

Hello All

An exciting and long day here in Philadelphia!! Up and ready to practice at 7am, the U13 team sure gave it their all today! After an hour warm up and run through, the girls moved from the practice room to the backstage area for the Ceili competition. It was so exciting to see all the dancers from all around the world and the many different school costumes. We were glad to see that the team from An Daire (go Northwest) were three groups ahead of us in the line. It was great to see the good sportsmanship as our two teams encouraged each other on to do a great job. Our team looked beautiful on the world stage, and danced their hearts out. Patti and I were very proud.

Unfortunately, we did not receive a recall for tomorrow's competition. But recall or not we leave feeling successful! The SRS team looked great, and the dancers should be very proud of their performance. I was very proud and will always remember our FIRST team to compete at the worlds!!!

Good job to: Emily, Kayleigh, Mackenzie, Rachel, Tatiana, Sydney, Briana, and Stevie!! You've made us all proud!

Hello Dancers and Families

Patti and I arrived to a rainy Philadelphia at 6:30 am after taking the red eye flight from San Francisco. We went to the Kimmel center and it is beautiful and the dancing so far looks amazing. We met with the minor team and did our last practice. They look great and are very excited to compete tomorrow. There are 97 teams entered for the competition. I am excited to see them dance, and know that they will do there best job and be a great representation for SRS!!!

Off to dinner now and then and early night so I can be up for the team tomorrow.

Keep ya posted.

I was very impressed at the dress rehearsal at the Seattle Center also. thanks to the many parents that helped out setting up the room and getting the "theatre" ready for the dancers. I was very impressed with the teams and solos, and I am very excited to see how your hard work pays off for next weekend.

Portland feis

Hello all
I wanted to congratulate all the dancers who participated in the recent Portland feis! You all did such a great job, I wish I had been there to see it! Luckily this was my last trip to Ireland until January. Here are some results for you. Our solo dancers won 50 first place medals, 31 seconds, 37 thirds, and 35 fourth places!! That is an amazing total for only 42 dancers. You also won 5 first place trophies, 3 seconds, 6 thirds, and 7 fourths. Very impressive. The prelims all danced well, and Emily Hurst came away with a 2nd place overall in her prelim! Well done.

I am excited to go to Feile Samhain with you all and have another successful weekend. I hope you all have your costumes ready, I'm still working on mine.
Talk to you soon.
